Dolores E. Johnson died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the
age of 56. She was born September 19, 1952 the daughter
of Marvin and Ellomae (Cassady) Evitts. She was a 1970
graduate of St. Johns High School and enjoyed to crochet.
She retired from the Department of Environmental Quality
after 37 years of dedicated and loyal service to the State of
Michigan. Dolores always felt fortunate to work with such a
great group of people whose friendship she valued. She
married Don Johnson in October 1977 and he survives
her. Also surviving is one son, Scott of Mt. Pleasant, four
sisters, Diane (Jerry) Sharick and Dorothy Cornwell both of
St. Johns, Deb (Rick) Louchart of Lakeland, FL, Darlene
(Doug) Hufnagel of Ovid; two brothers, Don Evitts of St.
Johns and Dale (Judy) Ev!tts of Middleton; sister-in-law
Alma (Ted) Stearns of Pompano Beach, FL and brother-inlaw,
Steve Barclay of St. Johns and many nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents,
sister, Denise "Kit" Barclay, brothers-in-law, Terry
Cornwell, Dick Adams, Larry Johnson, Jack Robinson and
parents-in-law Earl and Della Johnson. Funeral services
will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at
Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns 989-224-4422
with Pastor Ken Bremer officiating. Interment will follow at
Chapel Hill Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and
friends 6- 8 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at
the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of
donor's choice.
