Robert E. Jones, 75 of rural Owosso died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006 at his home. Bob was born July 19, 1930 in St. Johns, MI the son of Walter H. and Josephine Hefty Jones. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked at Diamond Reo, General Motors, Ovid Farmers Elevator and Chamberlain Lumber Co. On November 27, 1952 Bob married Lela J. Gregory in Owosso, MI. She preceded him in death on May 14, 1992. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survived by Sons, Robert Jones and Special Friend Julie Miller of Owosso, Roger & Melody Jones of Owosso,and Timothy Jones and Special Friend Jaymee Hord of Owosso Daughters, Robin Hollander of Owosso, Ronda Welch and Special Friend Dean Acre of Elsie, Robecca & Kenneth Love of Ovid and Amy & Kevin Lockwood of Ovid 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 4 step grand children. Several nieces and nephews. Brother William & Virginia Jones of Owosso Sister Mary & Al Crippen of Newberry, MI Preceded in death by his Brother, Clayton in 2005. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, 11:00 A.M. at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns 989-224-4422 with Rev. Steve Weinberger officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Memorials may be given to the charity of the donors choice.
