When we moved in across the street, I remember all the time spent on Groom’s front porch talking with the girls for what seemed like hours. Rose was always loving and kind even though a neighbor boy was on her front porch – but, looking back –“she knew where her girls were!” After joining the Army, when our family came home we always made a point of going over to Don & Rose’s for an update on happenings of the big town of Ovid. We would fill them in on where we lived and what we doing at that time. It was always an enjoyable, relaxing and refreshing moment in our visit home. Don, Irene, Shirley and Marilyn– as you know your wife/mother was a godly woman, who loved you all! She’s now in heaven helping to take care of the fields and gardens.
