Max Eugene Large died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the age of 89.
He was born October 19, 1925 in Lansing, Michigan the son of John and Roxi (Bryan) Large. Max was a graduate of Eastern High School in Lansing, a proud member of The United States Navy, serving during WWII, in both California and the Philippines. He was a former member of the Michigan Sheriff’s Association. Max resided most of his life in the greater Lansing area and made his living in Retail Sales, most notably as the manager of Bollert’s Hardware, located in the Frandor Shopping Center. Max married Kathleen O’Day December 23, 1961 in Lansing and she survives him. Also surviving are his children Diane Kay Nelson (Glen) of Auburn Hills, Debra Kay Barrett of Berrien Center, and Douglas J Large and companion Shari Alber of San Marcos, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert, sister, Maxine and son-in-law, Kevin James Barrett. Memorial services and interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery located in Holly, Michigan at a later date.
