Nellie A. Washburn, 89 of rural St. Johns died at her home on May 10, 2014, Nellie was born on February 25, 1925 in Duplain Twp. the daughter of Walter B. and Alice F. (Parker) Kaufman. She graduated from Elsie High School in 1943 and on June 30, 1946 she married J. D. Washburn. He preceded her in death in 2012.
Nellie enjoyed cooking, crocheting and her flowers. She had worked over 20 years at Clinton National Bank in Elsie.
Survivors are her children, Dee (Bill) Holley, Kam (Kathleen) Washburn, and Dan (Pam) Washburn all of Elsie and Rita (John) Craig of Holt, MI.
33 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her brother, Junior Kaufman.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home with Dr. Donald R. Ferris-McCann officiating. Burial will follow at Duplain Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Monday, May 12, 2014 5-8 P.M. and on Tuesday, Noon until service time. Memorials may be made to the Rochester Colony School.
