Helen F. Young died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at the age of 98. She was born August 29, 1907 in Olive Township, Clinton County Michigan the daughter of Charlie and Ruth (Upton) Flynn.  She was a graduate of Central Michigan University and Michigan State University earning a degree in education. Helen was a school teacher and taught at several schools in Mid-Michigan. She attended Redeemer United Methodist Church in DeWitt, when she lived in Michigan, and was a member of the MEA, and Retired Teachers Association.  She has resided in Louisiana since 1990. Surviving is a daughter, Nancy (Oliver) Smith of Junction City, AR; one son, Randall (Edith) Young of Laingsburg, MI; seven grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and special friend and caregiver for the past few years, Jeanette Farrar. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dow; a daughter-in-law, Maureen Young; two grandchildren, Diane and Barry Smith; a brother, Burton Flynn; and a sister, Arlene Mohr.  Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Monday, July 24, 2006 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Rodney Kalajainen officiating. Interment will follow at Wilsey Cemetery.   The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Saturday and 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
