James R. Parr, 91 of Lansing, MI passed away on December 3, 2017 at Brookdale Assisted Living Center. James was born on January 29, 1926 in Vigo County, Indiana the son of Clarence and Margaret (Smith) Parr. After graduation from high school he served in the U. S. Army and when discharged worked for General Motors Corp as a semi-truck driver until his retirement. He married Clara Bohl in 1946 and she passed away in 2010.
James is survived by his children, Sharon Parr of Lansing, Richard (Lori) Parr of Eaton Rapids and Laurie (Ron) Walker of Belding, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary McCarthy.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Harold DeMott officiating. Military Honors provided by St. Johns Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns, MI.
