Joyce E. Mowen 70, of Corunna, Michigan passed away on October 24, 2017. Joyce was born March 27, 1947 in Owosso, Michigan to Louis and Vera (Shepard) Brault. She graduated from Corunna High School in 1965. Joyce married Jerry Mowen March 2, 1968 in Corunna and he survives her. Joyce loved her family, and there was nothing she would not do for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren if it was within her power. Joyce had the heart of a teacher and for over 19 years, with the Corunna Preschool Program, was known for giving young children individualized attention and support whenever it was required for however long it was needed. Joyce was an avid softball player and enjoyed bowling in her younger days.
Joyce is survived by her husband Jerry, daughter Jodi Dodge-Skutt (Art), son Jason, grandchildren; Mitchell, Weston, Shalaine, Sierra, Taylor, Mikhayla and great grandchildren; Jesse, Walker, Odin and Hunter, her sisters Donna Springs and Terrie Brault-Lovelady (Mark) and brothers and sisters in law, numerous nieces and nephews, her very special friends Pat Greenfield and Carol Johnson as well as her beloved dog Zoei. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Ronnie and Jerry. A funeral service will take place 12:00 Noon Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Shiawassee Harvest Church 322 S. Dutcher Street Corunna, MI with Pastor Rick Story officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will take place at Pine Tree Cemetery Corunna, MI. The family requests those attending to dress comfortable casual, jeans and comfortable clothing is sufficient. In Lieu of flowers the family asks donations to the Shiawassee Harvest Church “Non-Food Pantry”, “Harvest Kids” and “Lifeline Youth Group”.
